Thank you very much for the review of RBC p2p! We're very glad to participate in the blogosphere and we do monitor it closely as it relates to both RBC as well as anything that may be relevant to social media in general. We've had some great experiences and learnings in the past year, and your feedback as it pertains to the site is not only valued, but crucial to our own improvement and participation in the space.

As it relates to the comment above from Mr. Fraser, because of our attention to client confidentiality, we do not discuss complaints in public forums, however, we believe that we addressed Mr. Fraser's concerns several years ago when a court order dismissing his claim was issued. Our views on this matter have not changed.

What we can say is that Mr. Fraser is entitled to his opinions, and we disagree with them. We do, however, remain committed to providing excellent financial services to our clients and managing every relationship with the utmost professionalism, whether it be in our branches, on the telephone, or here on the internet.

Once again, thanks a bunch for your support of RBC p2p, it's greatly appreciated!!

Cheers!

I was not sure if I should post the above blog post or not. But it points out maybe two important issues:

1) should a corporate blog address touchy issues - this corporate blogger - Todd Defren - suggested that it should:

Agenda of the Corporate Blog

We decided to follow Todd's advice and posted the comment - see above - even though it is negative for the Royal Bank of Canada - but it is in the open - the bank can respond.

2) should Royal Bank of Canada monitor the blogsphere. As John Dowdell from Adobe suggests in his recent blog post:

Please don't trust me

monitoring is very important.

I am not sure if the people at the Royal Bank of Canada monitor the blogsphere. Nevertheless, more than 24 hours after the above comment was posted, I am still waiting for a response from the nice folks at the Royal Bank of Canada.

In fact, I invite Investor Relations or those from Media Contacts - Royal Bank of Canada to post a response right here.

Would this not be what we expect of a company that is trying to protect its reputation?

RBC Bank President Gordon Nixon - Salary $11.73 Million

$100,000 - MISTAKE (FISHERMEN'S LOAN)

I'm a commercial fisherman fighting the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC Bank) over a $100,000 loan mistake. I lost my home, fishing vessel and equipment. Help me fight this corporate bully by closing your RBC Bank account.

There was no monthly interest payment date or amount of interest payable per month on my loan agreement. Date of first installment payment (Principal + interest) is approximately 1 year from the signing of my contract.
Demand loan agreements signed by other fishermen around the same time disclosed monthly interest payment dates and interest amounts payable per month. The lending policy for fishermen did change at RBC from one payment (principal + interest) per year for fishing loans to principal paid yearly with interest paid monthly. This lending practice was in place when I approached RBC.
Only problem is the loans officer was a replacement who wasn't familiar with these type of loans. She never informed me verbally or in writing about this new criteria.
